Additional Information

We're gearing up to shoot in late summer, and I'm really lucky to have such an awesome crew who are my friends. We've been working together for many years, so we're feeling really confident about diving into this.
This project is actually my MFA thesis. While most folks in my program are going for short films or scripts, I've always dreamed of making a feature, so here we are!

As the largest minority in America, Hispanics are an integral part of the nation's cultural fabric, yet there remains a glaring deficit in media representation that accurately portrays our experiences. It's disheartening to see the limited scope of films, TV shows, documentaries, and other media forms that authentically reflect our diverse backgrounds and narratives. Inspired by this void, I'm driven by a vision to produce films that authentically tell our stories, beginning with this project as the inaugural step toward bridging this gap in representation.

Director's Statement

This project explores the journey of a Latin American parent raising a daughter in South Florida, highlighting the balance between preserving cherished Hispanic values and adapting to U.S. culture. It captures the humorous and heartwarming moments when two generations, each with their own cultural perspectives, collide. The story emphasizes the sacrifices the single parent makes for their daughter's success and happiness, often at the expense of losing traditions. Through laughter, conflicts, and touching connections, the project celebrates the resilience of the Latin American spirit, family bonds, and the transformative power of second chances. It aims to resonate with immigrant families, showcasing the universal theme of love transcending cultural boundaries.

Update June 25th
Tue. June 25, 11:49 PM EDT

Hello Supporters.

I wanted to provide an update on how our fundraising and production are going.

We hit over 100 supporters which is amazing! Our goal is $20,000 and we are currently at $11,020 with 3 days left! I hope we can make it happen!

Regarding the production, there are so many things happening at the same time! And the most exciting one is that we've secured an A-List actor for our main character, Gerónimo. I'm not at liberty to share who it is yet, but I'll share that information as soon as I'm allowed.

We've put together a beautiful crew, and we have a tentative schedule that ranges from July 15th to August 2nd. Regarding the locations, we've identified all of them and we're waiting on getting permission to use them all.

Thanks to everyone who's supported this project, please consider telling others about it so we can hit our $20,000 mark.

Thank you,
